Holy Thursday
Readings:
Exodus 12:1-8;11-14
1Corinthians 11:23-26
John 13:1-15
Reflection:
Jesus took some bread, and thanked God for it and broke it, and he said ’This is my body which is for you; do this as a memorial of me.’ In the same way he took the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Whenever you drink it; do this in memory of me.’ Until the Lord comes, therefore, every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are proclaiming his death.
With so much activity going on in Holy Week, just take this or another small but significant text:
Just read the text slowly and allow the action of Jesus to become present to you.
Don’t complicate it with your mind; allow it to rest in your heart.
Conclude your prayer time with quiet words of celebration ‘for the Lord is with us always’.
That is what The Resurrection feast is all about.
Shalom
