Reflection:
God Reveals Himself to Us
God speaks to Moses from the burning bush. Moses asks God, “If the people ask me what is his name, what am I to tell them?”
God says to Moses, “I Am who I Am. This,” he added, “is what you must say to the sons of Israel. ‘I Am has sent me to you.’ “
God revealed Himself to Moses as a God of mystery, as the God of his fathers, and as a God who comes to save His People.
Jesus also deepens that relationship with all God’s People. He invites us to enter an intimate relationship with Him.
“Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest!”
We do not follow Jesus or should not follow Jesus from a distance. He invites you and me to enter a deep personal relationship with Him.
When I receive Jesus in his Word and in the Eucharist, how am I to respond to Him? He reveals Himself to the little ones. Will I come to Him myself eagerly and humbly, welcoming Him into my heart and my whole being? Let me rest in his Presence in silence and in love.
