Reflection
“Come and see”- The invitation.
When we say “yes” we are saying yes to the mystery of God not knowing what is before us, not knowing what God has installed for you and me. As this new year starts, we pause to ask ourselves, our hearts, and our God “What do you want me to see this year/today”. By John and Andrew opening their hearts, and being brave to take the step into the unknown God promised great things.
The question is always there “God where are you, what do you want from me?” The invitation is always there “Come and see”. Keep following in the footsteps of Jesus and you will see that God walks those steps with you opening doors and possibilities.
A couple of years ago I asked the question “God where do you want to take retreats, what do you want from me?” I’m not usually into asking those questions because I then had the response, and it was crazy wild. God said this far and gave us thousands more young people each year to hear the message of God’s unconditional love. The “come and see” meant that we had work to do, and we were called to be obedient to his calling (like in the first reading).
The mystery was revealed and keeps being revealed when we open ourselves to God’s invitation, we step into all the goodness of God where we experience love, joy, compassion, peace, and a deep knowing that God is with us!
