Daily Reflection, April 23, 2026

Reflection:

In John, Jesus speaks directly to a hunger many of us feel but cannot always name. Beneath our daily busyness, there is often a deeper longing—for connection, for meaning, for a feeling of being loved. We explore many ways to fill our longing, yet something remains unfulfilled.

The gospel reminds us that Jesus meets us right here and says, “I am the bread of life.” Bread is simple, essential, and sustaining – as is Jesus. In offering himself as bread, Jesus is not distant or abstract—but offers us nourishment that is real. This bread of life, Jesus, feeds the part of us that nothing else quite reaches.

Our hunger and yearning is a sign that we are being drawn by God. The quiet desire for “more” is already God’s invitation at work within us. If we listen, Jesus gently invites us to come closer, to trust that he can satisfy what we cannot fill on our own. Jesus beckons qui

Each time we receive this living bread we deepen our relationship with God through Jesus and are sustained by presence and love. And as we are nourished, we are also changed, becoming more able to give life to others.

The invitation is simple: recognise hunger, draw near to Jesus, partake of the bread of life that makes love real..
