FEAST OF THE SOLEMN COMMEMMORATION OF THE PASSION

God of Compassion,
Creator and Redeemer of mankind,
you sent your only Son into this world
to die that we may live
and to restore to us your friendship
lost by the sin of Adam.
Keep before our eyes
the mystery of Christ crucified,
so that we may preach to the world
the redeeming love of your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen 

Friday after the Second Sunday of Easter
FEAST OF THE GLORIOUS WOUNDS OF JESUS CHRIST

Lord Jesus Christ,
your hands, feet and side
were pierced
and flowed with blood
for the world's salvation.
The wounds in your risen body
strengthened the faith of the apostles
in your glorious resurrection.
Deepen our devotion to these proofs of your love
and unite us more closely to your passion,
so that we may rise with you to newness of life,
for you live and reign
with the Father and the Holy Spirit
one God, for ever and ever. Amen

FEAST OF BLESSED CHARLES OF MT. ARGUS, PRIEST (1821-1893) 

O God,
Blessed Charles of St. Andrew gave himself
wholly to the service of others
and brought healing
to those who were wounded by sin and suffering.
Grant that, following his exampIe,
we too may spend our lives
helping and caring for our brothers and sisters.
We ask this

FEAST OF ST. GABRIEL POSSENTI, CLERICAL STUDENT (1838-1862)

Lord,
you gave St. Gabriel of our Lady of Sorrows
a special love for your mother
and a compassion for her sorrows.
Through her,
you raised him to the heights of holiness.
Give us great devotion to her sorrows,
that we may know her as our loving mother.
We ask this

All powerful God,
you made the virgin Saint Gemma Galgani
a living image of your crucified Son.
Through her prayers,

Lord,
you granted Blessed Lorenzo Maria
an intense and penetrating knowledge
of the mystery of your Word made flesh
through his devout contemplation
of the Child Jesus.
Through his intercession,
grant that we too,
walking in the ways of spiritual childhood,
may come to life eternal with your Son.

Father,

and his companions,

we, too, may courageously persevere
in professing our faith constantly.

Lord,
you sent Blessed Dominic
to seek out the lost sheep of your flock 
by preaching your truth
and witnessing to your love.

new models of Christian life for your holy church
in the example of Blessed Grimoaldo
of the Purification.

to imitate his filial devotion
to the Immaculate Virgin
and his generous practice of fraternal charity,

a pleasing fragrance of Christ on earth

Lord God,

Lord our God,
you taught Blessed Bernard Mary
to love the crucified Christ
by perfect detachment from material goods.
Following his example and prayers,
grant that
through constant meditation
on the Passion of our Lord,
we may live and die
for him who is our Redeemer.
